With the changes to the studio to provide for social distancing, that worked out great this fall, we are continuing with our “New Norm”. Every one that comes in for class must wash their hands when they get here. Respect the space of others and in the kids classes students must still wear wear masks for now. We have opened up the back warehouse and made two additional classes with air conditioning to be able to spread everyone out and to let people distance themselves if they want. We are looking forward to seeing everyone who feels safe about coming back.
PS. This is an on-going situation that might change at any time. We are doing our best to make this work in a safe way to protect everyone as much as possible.
Oil painting, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and pencil are just some of the mediums we use to explore different techniques. With landscape, still life, portrait figurative, painting and drawing, we feature small class sizes with individual instruction and care. A full line of high-quality art materials and framing are also available for students to purchase at discounted prices.
Please call or e-mail us back to reserve your spot.
Over the years Jim and Kristin have been commissioned to do many different subjects in a variety of mediums and styles. They have painted formal and informal portraits of college presidents, children, pets, houses, boats and more. Painting landscapes of favorite or memorable scenes is one of the things we do best. Prices for paintings, drawings and pastels can vary greatly, depending on size, complexity, quality of reference material, and the medium chosen. Here are some rough pricing guidelines:
After receiving all of the reference material along with a discussion about the look and feel of the painting, a more accurate price will be quoted. After the commission is executed, framing and insured shipping can be arranged at an additional cost.
Method of Payment
Payment is made by check, credit card or money order in three equal, nonrefundable parts:
All photos supplied will be returned at time of completion.
We also have a large number of students and artists we know who we could get you in contact with for specific jobs at varying rates.

Repenning Fine Arts is Camden County’s largest privately owned art center. It is located at 35 East Kings Highway, Audubon New Jersey (near White Horse Pike). Their building houses a school of fine art, full service custom framing shop, art gallery, art supplies and the studios of artists Kristin and Jim Repenning. This husband and wife team moved their shop from Haddon Township to this location over fifteen years ago. Their business has continued to flourish from that time, by teaching over two hundred students a year and serving the public’s artistic needs.
Both Jim and Kristin’s art focuses on the local natural beauty found in their native state of New Jersey. They get their inspiration from the Jersey shore, the peaceful local river ways, and the wilderness of the pine barrens. Each puts their unique sensibility to their individual works by depicting our natural surroundings that are so often overlooked.
Kristin has merged her lifelong passions of art and teaching, dedicating her life to teaching and artistically nourishing the children as well as adults, that come to her school. She approaches both sides of her career with her love and humor. Concentrating on art later in life, she studied at local colleges and with her husband to hone her natural skills. She works primarily in oils and pastels with an ecologic bent to her subject matter.
Jim Repenning, like his wife, grew up in Haddonfield. He then attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where upon graduation won the Cresson European Traveling Scholarship. He has painted, framed, and taught art in Camden County for the past thirty-one years. He has worked in oil and pastel for all his life and for the past few years has incorporated photography into his works. Each week he can be found kayaking down the rivers of South Jersey, taking and painting pictures to use in his work. (View Jim’s resume here.)
Repenning Fine Arts is located just outside of Haddonfield, on Kings Highway in Audubon, New Jersey, near the White Horse Pike.
